Are You Eligible?
Before applying, ensure you meet the following criteria as of January 1, 2026:
- Age: Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is available for reserved categories (e.g., 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC).
- Educational Qualification: You must hold a Graduate degree in any discipline from a government-recognized institute or university.
- Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the local language of the State/UT they are applying for.
Selection Process
The path to becoming a PNB apprentice involves a comprehensive selection process:
- Online Written Test: A 100-mark MCQ-based exam covering General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude, and Computer Knowledge.
- Test of Local Language: Conducted for those who did not study the local language in 10th or 12th standard.
- Document Verification: To confirm your eligibility and credentials.
- Medical Examination: Candidates must be declared medically fit by a registered physician.
What’s in it for You?
This one-year apprenticeship provides a structured blend of 2 weeks of Basic Training and 50 weeks of On-the-Job Training. During this period, you will receive a monthly stipend based on your branch location:
- Rural / Semi-Urban / Urban Branches: ₹12,300/-.
- Metro Branches: ₹15,000/-.

- Complete your registration on the NAPS Portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) and/or the NATS Portal (nats.education.gov.in) as required.
- Pay the applicable fees: ₹944 for General/OBC/EWS (Male), ₹708 for General/OBC/EWS (Female), and ₹236 for SC/ST/PwBD/Transgender candidates (all inclusive of 18% GST).
